Surprise! More road work in Temple!

This time, TxDOT crews will be working to "rehabilitate a portion of SH 95 in Bell County". That means resurfacing about five miles of the road from Loop 362 in southeast Temple to FM 436 in Little River-Academy. They're also adding some safety features to culverts and drainage locations.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 8 and last until early autumn of this year. WEATHER PERMITTING. (My emphasis, not theirs.)

There'll be plenty of temporary lane closures, reduced speed limits, and daily delays and congestion, mostly between 8 AM and 6 PM.

Ken Roberts, a public information officer with TxDOT, says the project will cost around $3.5 million, and is being handled by Texas Materials Group, Inc. out of Cedar Park.

Hey, Temple is growing, and as more people move here, we'll need to make sure our roads are up to snuff. Growing pains, people. Growing pains.

But hey, at least you have us to keep you company in the car!

By the way, our apps are compatible with most modern cars' in-dash displays, so if you're ever in a fuzzy zone signal-wise, you can stream us anywhere, any time.
