There are plenty activities for Texas students to participate in when they are going through schooling. Some join clubs, and other may take part in various sports. For band kids though, marching band is their calling.

What Makes Marching Band Fun But Also Tough?

First things first, playing music is tough from the start. You must patience and practice a lot to get things right, then you have a single chance to get it right during a performance. Now imagine trying to do that, and having to move around on a field with a heavy instrument.

So, hours of practice for Texan marching bands aren't wasted. When it finally reaches competition time, every member is focused on performing well, and getting high scores. And for some schools, the hard work was will worth it.

Which Central Texas High Schools Are Moving Onto Area Competition?

As reported by KXXV, multiple schools scored well and heading to various area competitions. But who's moving on you ask?

Belton High School's The March 100 scored all one's for their performance at the UIL Region 8 Marching Contest. Because of their score, they will advance to Area competition. The Hillsboro Eagle Band also achieved the same score, moving to area competition as well.

Temple's Wildcat Band also made a big impression with their performance, and will move onto to the UIL Area D Marching Band Contest in Round Rock. The A&M Consolidated High School Band will also take their skills to area competition as well.

Good luck to all these bands in area competition and make Central Texas proud.
