A Texas man is hoping to use the late Tejano singer Selena's image to gain support at his Trump rally.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, Joe Michael Perez has organized a gathering of Trump supporters at the iconic Selena statue located in Corpus Christi.

Selena's family, who owns all rights to her image and likeness, have sent a cease and desist letter to Perez advising him to put a halt on the assembly.

“Without obtaining Quintanilla’s permission, you have unilaterally associated Selena’s brand and identity with Donald J. Trump, whose public statements, ideology, and political re-election campaign are neither endorsed by nor affiliated with Quintanilla in any manner,” according to the letter.

A Facebook event has been created for the rally, and supporters are using the line, "Bidi, Bidi, Trump, Trump" to promote the assembly. At this time, Perez has no intention of backing out.
