The Temple Daily Telegram is reporting an increase in vehicle burglaries in Temple!

TDT reports that 17 vehicle burglaries were reported by Temple businesses and residents between Friday, June 9th, to Monday, June 12th. The vehicle burglaries are tracked by the LexisNexis Community Crime Map.

The burglaries happened along South General Bruce Drive in Temple. TDT reports 7 vehicles were broken into in the 3800 block, and 3 more in the 4300 block. In all 10 burglaries, the thief gained access by breaking a window in each of the cars.

Let this be a reminder to never leave valuables in plain view inside your vehicle if you are not inside it with them. Of note, this brings the total of vehicle burglaries in Temple to 252 since the first of the year. - an 82% increase from the 206 burglaries reported this time last year.
