Wedding Ring Lands in Firefighter’s Donation Boot
Copperas Cove firefighters hit the streets last week for the Fill the Boot Campaign to fund the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Most donations consist of spare change scrounged up from the cup holder or a bill or two, but there was one item that stood out - a silver wedding ring.
Chelsea Edwards with our partners at News 10 reports that the ring is believed to be an accidental donation, and the fire department has been on a search to find the owner.
If it was indeed a deliberate offering, the fire department is asking that the donor call and let them know. It was collected near the HEB on U.S. 190 in Cove last Friday, April 5. For now, the ring has been handed over to the Copperas Cove Police Department for safe keeping. If no one claims it, it will eventually be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to the City Fund.

My theory is that this a grande proposal scheme gone awry. There's a Copperas Cove firefighter out there who doesn't have a clue. Okay, probably not, but I'm sticking with the idea that someone meant to donate the ring.
Maybe you want to make a large donation, but don't have the extra cash. It's time to milk the US 105 Cash Cow! Have the free US 105 app handy and tune in at 7:20, 12:20 and 4:20 each weekday for a chance to win up to five thousand dollars.
