Winner of Waco Roping Contest Gives Money to Injured Firefighter
17-year-old Lain LaFountain of Alvarado was the winner of the Garth Goodwin Team Roping Fundraiser at the Extraco Events Center in Waco Saturday.
The event was organized to benefit local firefighter Garth Goodwin, who was paralyzed while working off-duty in May.
Rather than keep his winnings, LaFountain decided to give them to Goodwin after the event. He tried to do it discreetly, but his father, assuming his son was trying to pose for a photo with Goodwin, started recording and captured the moment on video.
