It's something people of my generation have come to expect on Saturday nights.  PBS seems to only be good for Ken Burns documentaries and "Austin City Limits".

It was on January 2nd, 1975, the same year Saturday Night Live debuted on NBC, that PBS premiered "Austin City Limits" with Willie Nelson appropriately the first act.  In addition to "Whiskey River" and "Okie From Muskogee", the set, which was recorded as the pilot episode the prior October, fans were treated to "Bloody Mary Morning".
