April has been a pretty rough month for the music world. First Merle Haggard, and now Prince.

While "Country" may not be the first thing that comes to mind when we remember Prince Roger Nelson, there are plenty of Country artists reflecting on his influence this weekend.

There wasn't much Prince didn't get involved in. His albums, films, videos, and movie soundtracks are all being poured over in the last couple of days. Who remembers Prince taking on the entire soundtrack to the 1989 version of Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson? Still probably my favorite version of all the Batman films.

Scanning social media gives a clear indication that plenty of country artists loved his music.

Keith Urban –  “Just heard about Prince ….can’t believe it …….”

Charles Kelley – “can’t believe we lost Prince. another music legend has left us.”

Darius Rucker   – “Once again Heaven’s band just got even more incredible. One of my absolute idols #Prince. Thank u for showing me what true GREATNESS is!!”

Kip Moore – “Sad I never saw him live…what an incredible talent. RIP Prince”

Canaan Smith – “We’ve lost a true rock legend today. Rest in peace ‪#‎Prince

Shania Twain — “Sad beyond words that Prince is gone. To me he was one of the greatest music heroes – a true genius. There will never be another Prince.”

Lauren Alaina – “So bummed to hear about Prince. His legacy will live on forever. RIP”

Mickey Guyton “RIP to a legend. #Prince”

This weekend you can catch a number of tributes to Prince on TV. Saturday Night Live, Oprah's "OWN" network, 20/20, and BET are all airing special content this weekend. You'll also hear a few artists on the air this weekend on US 105 remembering this legend. Rest In Peace Prince Roger Nelson.
