Johnny Lee’s Contribution to the ‘Urban Cowboy’ Soundtrack Goes Gold on This Date

It's a movie my wife has tried countless times to make me watch, but I'm not buying John Travolta as a cowboy (or a straight male, for that matter).  I'm more familiar with Johnny Lee's "Lookin' For Love" more from Eddie Murphy's Gumby version on SNL.  Despite that fact, there are many people out there today thinking, "I can't believe it's been 33 years since that song was released".

It has been.  It was November 18th, 1980 that Johnny Lee went Gold with "Lookin' For Love", part of the "Urban Cowboy" soundtrack/.
