Extra Space Storage, a moving and organization website, compiled a list of the 13 most affordable cities across the United States using several factors, including area housing prices, average cost of living, job opportunities, recreational/entertainment options, and access to amenities. Texas had two cities on the top 13 list nationwide:

Extra Space Storage has also ranked the 7 most affordable cities in Texas as BrownsvilleEl PasoGalvestonHarlingenLewisvilleMcAllen, and Temple.

Temple has a median home purchase price of $126,100, and a median monthly rent of $821. It's also safer than 36% of cities in the nation, and the unemployment rate is 4.2%, with many job opportunities in the healthcare industry. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center was recently ranked one of the top 5 Best Hospitals in Texas by U.S. News & World Report.
