Shots Fired Near Temple High School Prompt Brief Lockout
Temple police are investigating after shots were fired a block south of Wildcat Stadium Tuesday morning.
In a news alert issued shortly after 3:15 PM, City of Temple spokesperson Alejandra Arreguin wrote that police reported to several reports of a single shot having been fired at the intersection of West Barton Avenue and North 31st Street around 10:05 AM.
"Officers were advised that an unknown suspect fired a single shot and fled in what was possibly a red Jeep," Arreguin wrote.
Police say no victim has come forward, and no suspects have been identified.
The shooting prompted a brief lockout of about 10 minutes at Temple High School as a precaution.
No further information was available Tuesday afternoon.
