Temple City Manager to Host Serve Temple Webinar February 11
If you've lived in Temple for all or much of your life, you've witnessed the dazzling growth the city has experienced over the past 20+ years.
Despite setbacks caused by the ongoing pandemic, Temple is expected to keep growing, and as it does your voice as a citizen of our fine town will be more important than ever, but only if you take the initiative and make it heard.
That's where the City of Temple's boards and commissions programs come in.
“The city’s boards and commissions give residents a voice in their local government and allows citizens to influence public policy and the future of our city,” Temple City Manager Brynn Myers said this week. “It also helps officials and city leadership make informed decisions based on citizen needs and priorities. I highly encourage interested residents to learn more and apply.”
To help citizens learn more about how these boards and commissions work and getting involved, Myers will host a free Serve Temple webinar at 6PM Thursday, February 11.
During the Webinar, Myers will provide an overview of the boards and commissions, then take any questions interested people may have.
There are advisory boards concerning animal services, the airport, emergency services, parks, and rec, and even neighborhood revitalization.
The commission a lot of people probably have questions about or want to be a part of is the Planning & Zoning Commission. As Temple's growth continues, the City will definitely need your perspective and input there.
You can find information about these boards and commissions here, along with applications to get involved and a link to Thursday evening's webinar.
If you're interested in helping guide Temple's growth and ensuring that you and your neighbors are represented, I'd definitely encourage you to attend Thursday, and be sure to take some notes so you can get answers to your questions and concerns.
