Temple, Texas Woman Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Take Toddler From Store
One woman in Temple is in custody after her alleged actions at a grocery store on Saturday, October 22nd.
Police Reports
According to KWKT and KWTX Officers were called to the grocery store in the 1300 block of West Adams. Reports stated that the women was yelling at customers. When officers arrived at the area and entered the store, customers pointed out where the individual was.
After being identified by patrons, the unidentified individual allegedly attempted to run from law enforcement. Officers were able to catch up to the individual, and place her under arrest. After placing the individual into custody, witnesses at the store provided more details of the woman's actions.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Ashley Chandelle Allen And Her Alleged Actions
The woman in custody, Ashley Chandelle Allen, reportedly to witness accounts, tried to steal a woman's child. Witness accounts state Allen followed the unidentified mother and child to the restroom are. Allen allegedly then crawled under the stall where the mother and child were, and attempted to take the child.
It is alleged that Allen was yelling obscenities and yelled that the toddler was "her baby." After running after from the restroom area, the unidentified woman was able to get the attention of management at the store. Further reports state the toddler had a red mark on their face.
Also according to to KWKT, Methamphetamine is also reported to be involved as per law enforcement.
