Dislike: What Is Going On With The Meta Building In Temple, Texas?
Temple, Texas continues to grow day by day. More individuals are moving to a rapidly expanding area, and new businesses are looking to take advantage of the bigger area. One of those businesses? None other than Meta.
Earlier in the year, the company announced that a new Hyperscale Data Center was going to be constructed in the city. The amount being put into the construction of the facility? A staggering $800 million.
Since then, not much has been revealed about the building, other than fact it was under construction. However, a recent announcement this week has some wondering when the building will be complete.
Meta's Announcement Regarding The Data Center
According to KWTX, Meta made the announcement that the Data Center building was paused due to a change in design. In a comment to KWTX, a spokesperson for Meta told the organization:
"In order to best serve our needs for the future, we have decided to change the design of our data center in Temple which will result in a temporary construction pause while we update our plans."
The spokesperson also said that building would still be built and that the company was "working closely with shareholders" to make sure the new design will come to fruition.
The new building is set create 100 jobs for the area, and the facility is set to be located NW H K Dodgen Loop and Industrial Boulevard and take up 900,000 square feet.
