A wildfire behind Temple's First Baptist Church broke out on Wednesday afternoon around 4pm.

The fire was located in the 8000 block of West Adams Avenue in Temple.  Our partners at News 10 report that "firefighters that were first on the scene called for backup units to assist due to dry vegetation and high winds."

Moffatt and Morgan's Point Resort firefighters were the ones on the scene.

A spark from a lawnmower is believed to possibly have been the reason for the fire according to officials.

Temperature are on the rise along with high humidity and vegetation has started to become really dry due to lack of rain in central Texas.

Remember if you're working outside this summer and it's dry to keep and eye on your work area, especially if you're operating power equipment such as a lawnmower.  Also, make sure you dispose all smoking materials in the correct manner.

Has we get into July temperatures look as if thy are going to remain very hot.  Be extra careful out there and stay safe.
