New Restaurants in Temple

You may already know and love Bird Creek Burger Co., but did you know that they will soon open a new, expanded location in Downtown Temple and rebrand possibly as Bird Creek Brewery? The larger location will offer all the great burgers you already love, plus feature an outdoor seating area and a beer garden. KCEN reports that they hope to open in the second quarter of 2022.

What's New in Downtown Temple

City Eats Food Hall is also planning an opening in 2022. This should be exciting to anyone who has those 'hard to please' family members who all like different things. City Eats will offer up to 12 different food/drink/dessert options. The building is currently under renovation, but we are definitely looking forward to their grand opening. This should be fun for sure.

Places to Drink in Temple

From the front it looks kind of unassuming, but FoxDog Café is now open at 209 North 7th Street. It's only from 4:30p-10p on Fridays, but it is a locally owned beer garden and coffee shop, offering a variety of craft beers, wine, and coffee. That's something worth toasting to!

Pizza in Temple

Anybody remember this old building? It may have been several things over the years, but I'm told it was the old Mr. Gatti's Pizza location. Rumor has it Mr. Gatti's Pizza is expanding to both Waco and Temple, although where they land in Temple is still unknown. The good news is that once they do get here, it's on like Donkey Kong with PIZZA. GAMES. PARTIES.

Dessert Places in Temple

Boozzy Cakes is a family owned commercial bakery that offers "Perfectly Saturated Alcohol Cakes" available for delivery or pick-up. This could quickly become my new favorite place. Doesn't this beauty look mouth-watering?

Temple Food Truck

Are you ready for a GROOVY CHEESE experience? Chock Full of Cheese is serving up the cheesy goodness at The Yard Food Truck Plaza in Downtown Temple. Chock Full of Cheese is a food truck, which also means you may find them at Corky's in Downtown Temple on Friday nights from 7-12p and Fire Base Brewing Company on Sundays from 12-5p.

This is just a taste of what to expect in the coming months from Temple. We are certainly excited to to welcome all of these great new places, and plenty more, to Downtown.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
