Temple, Texas is quickly becoming a major destination in Central Texas because of its convenient location near the confluence of Interstate 35 and Interstate 14, as well as, literally being just north of the population center for the entire Lone Star State.

All signs point to Temple's growth continuing to grow in leaps and bounds over the coming years because the Temple ISD has issued multiple statements regarding their strategy to accommodate all the prospective new students within the district, and Meta is slowly but surely moving forward with a data center. If you thought your price per square footage was high in your home, the Meta facility is expected to be almost 900,000 square feet and cost almost $800 million.
Even with all the news describing the growth of Killeen, Temple, and Central Texas, sometimes it still takes seeing something for yourself to really get an idea of all the construction happening, and sometimes even when you are looking, a brand new building can magically appear overnight.

I exit I-35 every day onto the 363 Loop at Buc-ee's, and look directly at this spot of land, so believe me when I say this brand new McDonald's was not there one day, and literally open the next.

Texas's Newest McDonald's Is Now Open In Temple, Texas
If you did not notice the new McDonald's either, odds are your kids haven't (it is hidden slightly behind an almost levy like road easement), so you might be safe from the happy meal requests for a while. The new McDonald's is now open 24 hours per day, and they are having their grand opening weekend beginning on Friday. Now, the only question is, "You want to meet up for happy hour or Happy Meals?"
